On Tuesday, April 22, 2008, a man was killed when he lost control of a vehicle in east Orange County near the University of Central Florida.  The Orlando Sentinel reported that a 21-year old male, driving south on Alafaya Trail, was approaching Challenger Parkway just shortly before 8:00p.m.  He veered into another lane to avoid hitting a slow moving vehicle but lost control of his Chevy van, struck the rear of another car, swerved onto the sidewalk, and struck a concrete wall and overturned.  The driver was killed in the crash.  His passenger, 23, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.  According to the article in the Orlando Sentinel, neither of the occupants were wearing seat belts.
