A Pace High School teacher in Florida's Panhandle may have one answer to my question this week, "what else can we do to get teens to wear seat belts?"

It may have been the intent of the integrated high school science teacher to expose her students to another career choice when she invited Air Methods Florida to visit her high school class. But what the students also got was a lecture on teen safe driving.

Apparently there was a lot of "silence" among the students as they were shown several photos of auto accidents where a teenager was at fault. The air flight paramedic addressed the fact that life and death decisions are made behind the wheel and they need to be made in a split second.

The air flight nurse reminded students to always wear a seat belt as they discovered the operations for a medical helicopter, saying "Seldom do we get dead people out of cars," he said.
