A motorcyclist and a car passenger were killed early Sunday morning in a tragic wreck on I-4. A speeding BMW was reportedly racing another vehicle when it came upon the motorcyclist and was unable to stop. Earlier reports indicated that the BMW attempted to take evasive action but failed and still hit the motorcycle. The BMW then rolled over, ejecting passengers. The driver may also have been drinking alcohol prior to the accident. It appears that this tragedy could have been avoided if the BMW had not been speeding and racing. Also, the accident may have been less tragic had everyone been wearing their seatbelts. It is important to remember that although traffic safety laws seem cumbersome, they are only in place to protect us and to hopefully avoid horrible events such as this.
