A comment on Injuries on Disney Rides and Attractions: Second Quarter 2009

Have you noticed most of the people being injured are the older folks? At those ages back pains and whatnot are very likely to happen after going through a high range of motion. And the 7year old, people just need to watch out for their children and ensure that they're safe. And some of these people are doing very stupid things. Head first? Grow up.... If you feel you shouldn't go on the ride, don't. Disney is one of the most professional companies in the world. And safety is their top priority. ts not them it's you.

A comment on Medical Device Product Immunity Gets Another Look

Ed, The Medical Device Safety Act 2009 needs to be passed now - and swiftly, before many more innocent victims are injured by defective medical devices and have no redress in the courts. Medical manufacturers' should be held accountable, responsible and liable for manufacturing faulty devices especially when they are implanted for the long term - i.e. Class III devices. The FDA cannot possibly stay on top of all the new medical devices on the market today and they have admitted to that fact. My Husband endured 37 extremely powerful shocks from his recalled Medtronic Sprint Fidelis lead that fractured on Oct. 31st, 2008. Many voices speaking out for the Medical Device Safety Act can also be found at : More ... I ask each and everyone of you who have been injured by a faulty medical device (or who have friends or relatives who have been injured) to join this petition and also write to your Congressmen/Women & Senators to encourage their support of this very important bill. Thank you Ed, for bringing this to the forefront again.

A comment on Melamine Contamination Spread to Eggs from China

Food processed in the U.S. has Chinese ingredients, I have confirmed in emails from Kellogs, Nestle’s, Americas Beverages, Cadbury, and many more. If the food is processed in the U.S. with chinese ingredients they can still claim MADE IN THE USA on their labels, most of your processed chicken and other foods and meats are slaughtered here and sent to China for processing. What are the chances of (A) Them sending back different chicken or meats than the ones sent, or (B) the food was processed with MELAMINE.
Write or call your Congressman now and ask them to STOP all food and drink ingredients from communist China.
Go to More ...

A comment on Teen Decapitated by Coaster at Six Flags Georgia

It's is extremely sad that someone lost their life over something as stupid as retrieving a hat, but I hope the parents have enough moral fiber to NOT blame the park or the ride manufacturer for that incident. When someone intentionally bypasses warnings and safety devices they are responsible for what happens to themselves.

A comment on Taser and Excited Delirium-A Controversy that Continues

Joe - Great Morning!!!

... I would think the "real questions" include:

1. How much medical and scientific reseaerch exists supporting acute agitated delirium, and excited delirium (acute agitated delirium caused by chronic drug abuse or neurolepic use (including Ritilin))? Also, please see neuroleptic malignant syndome. The answer (for anyone who bothers to do the research) is enormous (100s of articles and several texts) and dates back to 1849 (Journal of Insanity, article by Dr. Luther Bell -- "Bell's Mania").

2. How much medical and scientific researech exists that prove that an electronic control device (ECD) is unreasonably dangerous? The answer is none -- other than some speculative dicta in a very small minority of documents.

3. How much medical and scientific research exists that show that ECDs are safer and more effective alternative use of force tools than other law enforcement use of force tools and techniques? Here, ECDs have undergone more scrutiny and scientific testing and analysis than any other law enforcement use of force tool or technique. And, these studies include mutiple countries, multiple governments, etc.

4. As far as risk benefit analysis -- many law enforcement agencies have seen large double digit benefits from use of ECDs, including, but not limite to: decreases in use of deadly force, decreases in officer and suspect injuries, decreases in suspect complaints and lawsuits, etc.

5. As far as case law -- there are now close to 100 cases where courts have ruled on the appropriateness of ECD use by law enforcement officers. Again -- do the research.

6. Why criminals (in the eyes of some) are no longer responsible for their own actions, or more to the point: the effects of their long term life's choices?

7. Why ignorance (lack of knowledge, unwillingness to do the research) and greed (deep pocket causation theory -- as opposed to actual causation) seems to be the impetus for baseless criticism (and lawsuits)?

Have a sensational week!!!

Michael Brave
