The parents of a 15 year old girl sued Wal-Mart alleging their daughter contracted an e-coli infection from frozen hamburger patties they bought at a WalMart. The young girl was hospitalized for about 3 weeks suffering from pain, fatigue, diarrhea and dehydration. She almost died from eating the tainted beef distributed by Topps Meat. The Miami Herald reports that the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture reported 21 E. Coli cases in eight states. Topps voluntarily recalled thousands of pounds of its frozen hamburger products. Wal-Mart removed the frozen hamburger patties with July 12, 2008 sell-by dates from its shelves.

If you have purchased any of these hamburger products you should check the date and return them to the store where you purchased them or dispose of them.
