The popular birth control patch Ortho-Evra is facing more troubles after more women are suffering deadly blood clots and heart attacks. The women who are injured are otherwise healthy but suffer serious health problems after using the birth control patch. Ortho-Evra exposes women to a higher levels of estrogen (about 60% more) than the birth control pill.

On November 10, 2005 the FDA issued a new label warning about the drug. On the website worstpills.com Public Citizen proclaims: "There is no medical reason for women to use the more dangerous Ortho Evra rather than one of the older, better understood, and equally effective oral contraceptives."
