In a disturbing case out of the Boston area, a pediatrician is accused of molestation of young boys under his care.  While this is a terrible situation it points out the absurdity of medical malpractice damages caps.  Under medical negligence laws like those in Florida, believe it or not, this physician would be protected and his liability for negligent medical care would be limited by the Florida medical malpractice laws.  Why anyone  would want to protect a child molester just because he happens to be a physician is just crazy and it sheds light on  the problems when the government tries to interfere with the judicial process in holding wrongdoers accountable for the damages they cause.
