Unfortunately the Florida Bar has had to suspend the practice of another Orlando area lawyer handing social security personal injury cases and other civil matters. Juan Carlos Gautier, who has been practicing for 10 years, was suspended based on several Florida Bar inquiries from 2004 to 2006. The Bar also censured the attorney for sending his client's cases to other lawyers to handle without consent of the clients.

This serves as another reminder to the public to carefully scrutinize the qualifications, experience and past results before they hire a lawyer in a personal injury case. Just because a lawyer advertises that they can handle a case does not mean that they can. One of the best ways to ensure that you have a qualified lawyer on the case is to hire only a Florida Bar Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer to handle your personal injury case. You can access a list of Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyers at the Florida Bar website. In order to be Board Certified a lawyer must pass a rigorous exam, have proven trial experience and verified reputation for competence from judges and other experienced lawyers.
