A federal law about swimming pool safety modeled on existing Florida law will soon be put to a a vote before the US Congress. The "Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act" has passed committee and is to be voted on by the full House of Representatives. The bill gives money to states to help prevent children from downing in a pool. Accidental drowining is the second leading cause of death for chldren under 14. The drowning of child, or any accidental death, can be devastating for parents. Hopefully laws such as this one protect our children.
